LS-56-01 Model Uses Omron Microwitch
Panasonic no longer manufactures microswitches for Seimitsu products. The units we have now will use Omron brand microswitches.

Before Seimitsu introduced the LS-58 series of translucent color joysticks, there was the solidly-built LS-56. This joystick is noticably smaller than the LS-32 or LS-40, enabling it to fit inside smaller joystick configurations, such as a Madcatz TE. The stiffer spring makes it excellent for those who prefer it to the softer looser spring in a Sanwa JLF, or LS-58.
The LS-56 has the following characteristics according to slagcoin:
- Medium throw distance
- Medium engage distance
- Has a heavy tension spring in comparison to Sanwa JLF
- Comes with square gate by default but can be fitted with an octagonal gate.
- High neutral and engage precision.
Compatble with Seimtsu LB-35 balltops, LB-39 bubbletops, color shaft and dustwasher sets
You can find plenty of color customization options for the LS-56. Now available are Seimitsu solid and translucent color shaft and dustwasher sets, plus solid color LB-35 bubbletops, and translucent LB-39 bubbletops. Use these to swap the default black up to 7 solid color and 10 translucent colors accessories.
Bundle with LS-56 octogonal gate!
The Seimitsu LS 56 Octagonal Restrictor Plate is compatible with the LS-58, allowing you to get smooth 8-way movement similar to the Sanwa GTY.
Flat MS Plate installed. VF, P=40 Flat and SS Plates Available
The Seimitsu LS-56-01 joystick comes with a flat MS plate, which can install on MadCatz TE. We also carry the Seimitsu VF Plate, which is often used in Hori joystick configurations, plus the flat and SS P=40 plate. The P=40 is considered one of Seimitsu's most versatile plates. The P-40 plate mounts on practically any "universal" mounting spot (HRAP 3 SA/SE or HRAP V3/VX SA) as well as seemingly "JLF-only" HRAP 3's and licensed HRAP's like the Arcana Heart 2 joystick (Thanks to SRK's GeorgeC for the explanation).

My New Favorite
I love this joystick. I appreciate the short throw for quick execution. The high tension spring is nice, but not too heavy keeping it from being tiresome. I also picked up the octagonal restrictor plate for added precision. https://www.focusattack.com/products/Seimitsu-LS-56-Octagonal-Restrictor-Plate.html The size is perfect if you are doing a drop-in replacement of the JLF and it is compatible with Seimitsu shaft cover-dust washer sets. Where have you been all my life!
I love this stick. Great if you like the tight tension and small throw range of the LS-62, but like the longer shaft. Octagon gate makes this perfect. Never going back to default sticks. It does take some getting used to as it is way more sensitive to jiggling than other sticks. You will find yourself doing accidental qcfs and spds for a little if you don't have a steady hand, but really awesome stick. Helped improve my execution. Unknown on Apr 18th 2016

my favorite stick.
I like the LS-56 because of the short throw distance, which enables me to execute commands faster than that of other sticks. The added resistance is nice too because it helps returning to neutral faster as well. I play SNK and Capcom fighters and I just love using this stick. What I also like is that if for some reason I grow tired of the extra resistance, focus attack offers many other compatible springs that I can swap in the LS-56. One day I will try out the 58 and 40 spring, but for now I am loving the resistance of the 56 coupled with the short throw. Unknown on Jan 29th 2016

Get this stick for Shmups/STG/Shoot 'em ups, don't forget the Octo gate!
You feel like you need more stick resistance than the LS-32-01 for Shmups/STGs/Shoot 'em ups? Get this stick. Once you switch you for the most part can't go back to the LS-32-01. After the switch I have more control over my ship/human/etc. in a Shmup where control is the utter most importance. Stick is very precise even in the most bullet-dense moments of a Shmup. A slight push is all you need to move very slightly and not move too much. From upgrading from the LS-32 it takes a slight adjustment due to the extra resistance but you get use to it quickly. There are minor differences between LS-56 and LS-58 but the LS-56-01 is a good improvement over the LS-32-01. If you need a Two-Way or Four-Way stick then you must use the LS-32-01 since from my understand it is the only Seimitsu that allows Two/Four-Way via its Restrictor Plate. Also highly recommend get the Seimitsu LS 56 Octagonal Restrictor Plate if you normally play you games riding the gate and one of the Kowal Mounting Plates for support of the majority of arcade sticks and control panels on Japanese Sit Down Candy cabs. If you currently use the LS-32-01 with the standard Seimitsu SS Mounting Plate pick up the Kowal SS Mounting Plate since it will support the LS-56-01 no problems. Installation is easy.
